Observation

Large Lakeshore type throw carpet does not lay flat to the floor in the front room. Carpet was observed bunched up in several places posing a tripping hazard to those who walk on it. Front room window, family room window, and dining room/Living room windows opens more that 3 1/2 inches wide. Opens large enough for someone to climb out. No screens noted in the windows as well. Built in desk located in the kitchen area, accessible to children with drawers observed unlocked with small choking items viewed inside all accessible to children. None of the safety locks were secured until the provider corrected the violation during the visit. Stickers on sliding glass door, are peeling and loose posing a choking hazard to children. Window blinds noted from a previous visit have been taken down and curtains added. 3 windows viewed with no blinds. A 4th window in the larger living room area, was observed having blinds that form loops and observed accessible to children on 9/19/2024. Several cabinet drawers in the kitchen observed not locked as the safety locks had not been used to lock. Licensor open drawers to find sharps inside that poses a cutting hazard to children. All drawers are observed accessible to children. The provider corrected the violation by locking the drawers with the safety locks during the visit.
